The Texas City Dike is the longest man-made fishing pier, and runs 5.3 miles into Galveston Bay, according to the city’s official website. The dike includes an asphalt road that is 24 feet wide, and 12 feet of shoulders on either side of the crushed gravel.
The dike is located just over an hour outside of Houston. Its location and four boat ramps make it one of the most popular fishing and boating destinations in Texas.
