Surveillance footage captured the surreal moment nine people climbed out of a small car to rob a Virginia vape shop in October.
The bizarre footage was revealed on Wednesday night on FOX 5 Washington, D.C. At the beginning of the clip, the silver four-door sedan could be seen backing into a parking spot in front of Accolades Vape and Tobacco Shop in Warrenton, Virginia.
As FOX 5 reporter Shomari Stone noted in the segment, the car was designed to fit five passengers. As the clip progressed, five people emerged from the back seats alone. Then, the trunk pops open to reveal two more suspects climbing out. The final two suspects in the driver’s seat and front passenger seat brought the total to nine — nearly twice what the car was designed to hold.
The suspects, Stone continued, stole smoking accessories, clothing, and designer sneakers. In total, they made off with approximately $13,000 of merchandise. They also made off with Pokémon cards and the store’s cash register.
At the time of the report, the robbery suspects were still at large and police were asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating them.
Additionally, police believe the group may be connected to other robberies in the area.
