A non-governmental organisation. Straight Child Foundation based in Umuahia, Abia State, has been honoured with the 2025 Quality Performance Award by MiracleFeet, a global charity dedicated to eliminating clubfoot disability.

The award, jointly signed by MiracleFeet’s Technical Director, Anna Cuthel, and Director of Programs, EnmanuelOtoo, was in recognition of TSCF’s outstanding delivery of clubfoot care services in Nigeria that meet international standards.

MiracleFeet, which works in over 30 countries, praised TSCF for its consistency in applying best practices, training local professionals, and ensuring that children born with clubfoot in Nigeria receive treatment that aligns with global benchmarks.

Reacting to the award, TSCF and MiracleFeet Country Program Coordinator, Mr. UchennaEgbe-Eni, described the recognition as a product of teamwork and perseverance.

“Like many good things, the sweat and the grease are not seen. What is often obvious is the glory. This award is a testimony to our hard work, individual and collective. No one would have done it standing alone,” he said.

Egbe-Eni expressed gratitude to God for the success and prayed for greater progress in the fight against clubfoot, noting that the recognition would inspire the team to expand their impact beyond the program into broader healthcare and community development.

He said, “This award underscores Nigeria’s growing role in global health interventions and highlights the importance of partnerships between local organizations and international bodies in tackling preventable disabilities.

“Clubfoot, a congenital deformity affecting one in every 800 children worldwide, can lead to lifelong disability if untreated.

“The recognition of TSCF places Nigeria at the forefront of global efforts to provide accessible, affordable, and effective treatment for affected children.
