In a major boost to healthcare delivery in rural Abia State, the Rachisols Foundation has unveiled a solar power system at the Aumuvi Primary Health Centre in Arochukwu Local Government Area.

The project, inaugurated on August 7, is part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility drive to support development in underserved communities across Nigeria.

The unveiling ceremony drew top government officials and community leaders, and was headlined by the First Lady of Abia State, Mrs. Princilla Otti, who officially unveiled the facility to the delight of residents.

Dr. Oluwatobi Lasisi, head of the RSF Healthcare Scheme, explained that the initiative was part of Project Enrich 3, the foundation’s flagship healthcare intervention. “The project is focused on rejuvenating healthcare by ensuring uninterrupted electricity at primary health centres through solar energy installations,” he said.

The solar system was installed in partnership with Mr. Touyo Dudu, CEO of Tudu Energy, while the foundation was represented at the ceremony by Project Lead, Ms. Symbyat Ajao.

Dignitaries present at the event include Abia State Commissioner for Health and Executive Secretary, Abia State Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Kalu U. Kalu; Abia State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Maureen Aghukwa; the state’s Commissioner for SMEs and Industry, Mike Akpara; UNICEF Chief of Field Office, Enugu, Mrs. Juliet Chiluwe; Chairman, Arochukwu LG, Dr. Okeke Aro and his deputy, Ngozi Nwafor.
