A street puff-puff vendor, Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo, has been appointed as a chef in the Osun State Government House after catching the attention of Governor Ademola Adeleke during a recent labour rally in Osogbo.

Recall, PUNCH Online reported on August 29, Adeleke surprised a puff-puff seller during a rally in Osogbo by buying all her snacks with ₦50,000, and offering her employment as a chef at the Government House.

Adeleke announced the appointment on Friday via his official X handle, describing it as a promise fulfilled.

“A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo during the rally where labour unions and other groups declared their support for my re-election.

“Today, I have kept that promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs.

“Beyond this, I have also approved a scholarship for her up to the Master’s level, should she wish to further her education,” he said.

Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has received formal catering training, became a viral sensation after a video showed the governor purchasing her entire tray of puff-puff for ₦50,000.

In another announcement, Adeleke also celebrated the commissioning of the long-abandoned Osun Farmers’ House in Osogbo, a project originally initiated by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola but left neglected by subsequent administrations.

According to Adeleke, the reopening of the facility reflects his government’s resolve to uplift the farming sector and stimulate growth across Osun’s economy.

“This milestone shows how serious we are about meeting the needs of our farmers while driving transformation in every sector of our state.

“I sincerely appreciate the support from Osun’s farmers and reaffirm my pledge to revitalise agriculture as part of our larger mission to secure food for our people,” he said.

With these steps, the governor signalled that his administration remains focused on both human empowerment and sustainable development, combining immediate opportunities for individuals with long-term strategies to strengthen Osun’s economy.
