Tong is expected to be joined by the Connecticut Economic Development Commissioner Daniel O’Keefe.
The Sun’s owners, the Mohegan Tribe, are actively seeking either a buyer or investor for the team.

An offer from a Boston-based group to buy the team and relocate the Sun triggered panic over the summer, as Connecticut leaders feared the loss of its sole remaining major league sports franchise.
Since the news, Governor Ned Lamont pitched a new plan for the state itself to become an investor in the franchise through the multibillion-dollar public employee pension funds it manages. Wednesday marked the first time Lamont publicly acknowledged the plan.
