BARLING, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Barling police are looking for a missing man after his vehicle fell into the Arkansas River on Aug. 25.

According to Barling police, around 11:28 a.m., personnel at Lock and Dam 13 reported that a tugboat operator witnessed a vehicle fall into the Arkansas River from a downstream boat ramp at Springhill Park.
Sebastian County first responders rescue person who drove car into river
Police say multiple agencies responded to the scene with boat crews and divers. The vehicle was recovered, but the driver of the vehicle has not been located.
The driver is believed to be Donald McGrew. McGrew has shoulder-length hair, a Pegasus tattoo on his right upper arm, a severe burn scar on one of his forearms and is blind in one eye.
Responding agencies include Barling Police Department, Barling Fire Department, Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish, Arkansas Highway Police, Fort Smith Fire Department, Fort Smith Dive Team, Sebastian County Search and Rescue, and Central City Police Department.
Barling police say they searched for McGrew throughout the day on Aug. 25, and will resume the search on Aug. 26.
