A philanthropic organisation, Wunti Alkhair Foundation, has provided training on business mindset, financial management, market positioning, and access to finance to about 1,000 entrepreneurs in Bauchi State.
The Director of Programmes of the foundation, Mustapha Ango, disclosed this on Wednesday during an interactive session with journalists, saying the initiative was part of the foundation’s vision of building stronger communities through interventions in education, agriculture, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and social welfare.
According to him, the goal of the foundation is to create opportunities that transform lives while ensuring that the most vulnerable are not left behind.
Ango noted that in recent months, the organisation rolled out several initiatives cutting across technology, agriculture, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
He disclosed that under the Bala Wunti Tech Fellowship 2025, young entrepreneurs were taken on an industrial visit to Lagos to prepare them for the future of work.
The foundation boss explained further that the trip coincided with GITEX Nigeria 2025, where fellows engaged with global and local technology leaders, explored emerging digital trends, and built valuable networks.
“A standout moment came when Muhammad, a 2024 fellow, showcased his startup at the exhibition, a milestone that highlighted how the fellowship is nurturing Bauchi-born innovators for national and international impact,” Ango said.
He added that for many fellows, it was their first time engaging directly with multinational firms and witnessing the scale of Nigeria’s technology sector, stressing that Bauchi youth can be part of the global innovation conversation if given the right platform.
The director revealed that through the Bauchi Agricultural Advancement Programme, the foundation launched the Fertiliser for Farmers Initiative, providing fertilisers to 6,000 smallholder farmers across various local government areas.
“The objectives are clear: to improve soil fertility and crop yields, reduce the financial burden on farmers, ensure household food security, and move Bauchi closer to becoming a recognised agricultural hub in Nigeria. Every bag of fertiliser we provide is not just an input – it is an investment in Bauchi’s future,” he stated.
The foundation also introduced the Bauchi Business Clinic, which offers free Corporate Affairs Commission registration for small businesses to strengthen entrepreneurship and job creation.
Ango disclosed that ahead of the recent Eid al-Maulud celebration, the foundation distributed food essentials to families across Bauchi to ease the burden of rising costs and enable Muslims to celebrate with dignity.
He noted that the gesture reflected the values of compassion, solidarity, and generosity that the foundation upholds, adding that “celebrations should not be defined by hardship.”
