Former Big Brother Naija star and media personality, Pere Egbi, has shared a heartfelt tribute to a friend who recently took his own life.
On Monday, Pere revealed on his X account that the tragic loss was a result of relentless online bullying.
Although the media personality did not give specific details about the tragedy, he stated that the incident occurred on Monday.
“I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well,” he wrote.
PUNCH Online reports that Big Brother Naija held a tribute to honour three former housemates who have passed away, Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey, through a solemn minute of silence to commemorate their memory.
Pere, who gained fame as a housemate in the Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” season, has built a multifaceted career beyond reality TV.
He is an actor, singer, and songwriter.
On screen, he has starred in international and local productions such as Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh, and Blood Vessel.
