Bluebird has proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of innovation, excellence, and unwavering commitment to its mission. The event was held in Lagos recently.
The Chairman, Bluebird Communication, Femi Olubanwo, noted that Bluebird Communications Limited began as a small creative agency with a bold dream to tell authentic African stories, bridge the gap between brands and their audiences, and deliver innovative solutions with speed and precision
He said, “On behalf of the entire Bluebird Communications Group, I warmly welcome you to this special press briefing and luncheon to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Today marks not just three decades of existence, but three decades of purpose, passion, and progress. We thank you for being here to celebrate this milestone with us under the theme: ‘30 and Vibing.’
“Thirty years ago, Bluebird Communications Limited began as a small creative agency with a bold dream to tell authentic African stories, bridge the gap between brands and their audiences, and deliver innovative solutions with speed and precision. That vision still drives us today. From those humble beginnings, we have grown into a fully integrated marketing communications group. Our business now spans digital strategy, media planning and buying, experiential marketing, brand activation, and public relations, with specialised subsidiaries leading in each domain.”
“Along the way, we’ve partnered with Nigeria’s most respected brands and individuals, while also helping challenger brands become household names and small brands grow into big brands. Together, we’ve launched campaigns that have sparked conversations, shifted behavior, and built enduring loyalty. Our work is known for its clarity, creativity, and credibility. And the relationships we’ve built with clients, media partners, and collaborators are the foundations on which we continue to grow.”
Narrating the company’s journey, the Executive Chairman, Bluebird Communication, Kunle Ogunmefun, said the journey started on the 7th of July 1995 when the company got its Certificate of Incorporation, adding that subsequently the company’s door was for operations from a one-room rented office space at 7 Military Street, Onikan, Ikoyi, Lagos.
He continued, “We started Bluebird during a very hostile and harsh economic environment, purely endangered by the then Military era. Many cynics thought it was extremely crazy to commence business at such a period in Nigeria. If you recall, Nigeria was then a pariah State, businesses were closing shop, international business interests were returning to their home countries, and the business climate was generally ominous..
“We traversed this Season I just painted, trudged on, we were very dogged, we stayed focused and remained tenacious on the dream. 30 years later, we give Glory to the Almighty God for our growth and our numerous contributions to the development of our clients, businesses, the advertising industry, and the GDP of Nigeria.”
