SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KETK)– Due to a water line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued a boil water notice for parts of San Augustine.

Boil water notice issued in parts of Gilmer
Those impacted are asked to boil their water before consumption, such as brushing their teeth or washing their hands. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
Residents can purchase bottled water as an alternative to boiling water. Once the notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will alert all customers currently impacted.
“Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice,” the TCEQ said.
