Buc-ee’s is expanding in the West. Here’s the latest about the Arizona location

A beloved convenience store and gas stop is expanding in the West.

Buc-ee’s is expected to open a location in Springville, Utah, about 50 miles south of Salt Lake City. This comes after news that the Texas-based travel center has been exploring Meridian, Idaho, as a potential location.

Founded in 1982, Buc-ee’s is known for its beaver mascot, ā€œthe world’s cleanest bathrooms,ā€ cheap gas and homemade barbecue.

This will be Buc-ee’s first location in Utah, and the 74,000-square-foot gas and convenience store location will be constructed on undeveloped land. There will also be 120 fueling stations, multiple EV chargers and 200 full-time employees. The Utah location is expected to take just over two years to complete.

This isn’t the first time the travel center has expanded out West. Buc-ee’s Arizona location had its groundbreaking on May 14.

When was Bucees founded?

Buc-ee’s was founded in 1982 by Arch ā€œBeaverā€ Aplin III. The first location was opened in Lake Jackson, Texas, as a regular-sized convenience store and evolved into the large travel centers with gas stations in 2003.
