The Corporate Affairs Commission has assured its customers that the persistent difficulties being experienced in making stamp duties payments through its online portal will soon be resolved, as engineers work on a lasting solution.
The commission, in a statement released via its official X handle on Friday, explained that the challenge arose following the deployment of its upgraded, more advanced portal, which it said was ahead of the systems currently in use by other partner agencies.
The CAC noted that the upgrade is part of its broader digital transformation agenda aimed at improving the speed, efficiency, and user experience of its services.
The commission also urged stakeholders to remain patient, assuring them that the temporary challenges would give way to a more seamless and efficient service delivery once the transition to the advanced system is fully completed.
“We are aware of the difficulties some of our valued customers are facing in making stamp duties payments through our portal.
“Please be assured that this matter is receiving the urgent attention of engineers from both agencies involved, and a permanent solution is almost in place.
“This challenge arose due to the deployment of our new and more advanced portal, which is ahead of the systems used by our sister agencies,” the statement partly read.
According to the statement, the filing of annual returns will be the first feature to be rolled out under the new system, with the commission expressing optimism that it would be available to customers as early as the coming weekend.
It added that the soon-to-be-launched AI-driven Post-Incorporation system will simplify business processes for registered companies, especially small and medium-scale enterprises.
“In addition, we are finalising a newly simplified, AI-driven Post-Incorporation system for Business Names — including the filing of Annual Returns.
“The annual returns feature will be the first to go live, hopefully this coming weekend, for your convenience,” it added.
The commission concluded that it regrets any inconvenience the glitches may have caused its teeming customers.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and support as we work to serve you better,” the statement concluded.
