Nov. 7 (UPI) — Multiple agencies participated in the rescue of a deer found stranded in a 10-foot-deep dry well in the Niagara County town of Lewiston.
Personnel from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation responded alongside police, firefighters and the Niagara County Tech Rescue Team when the deer’s predicament was reported about 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
The rescuers were able to successfully hoist the deer out of the well.
The DEC said the well was covered after the rescue to prevent other animals from getting trapped.
