Democratic congressional candidate Stefany Shaheen trashed the shutdown-ending deal crafted by her own mother, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), calling healthcare the “cause of my life” in a statement issued Monday.

Stefany Shaheen’s campaign website is majorly focused on healthcare provision and cites her work backing chronic disease treatments as well as her young daughter’s struggle with Type 1 diabetes. In campaign ads, the congressional hopeful slams the Trump administration for “shattering the hopes” of families like hers with cuts.
