A dense fog advisory has been issued for Central Indiana through 9 a.m. Sept. 23.
Visibility could be severely reduced in some areas and create dangerous traffic situations during morning commutes. If driving this morning, slow down, be sure headlights are on and give plenty of distance to vehicles.
“Take the necessary precautions to stay safe and allow for extra time to reach your destination this morning,” the National Weather Service Indianapolis posted.
Counties included in the advisory are: Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson, Jennings.
The advisory comes a day after Indiana State Police said they’d responded to more than 50 crashes in nine hours after rains hit the area Sept. 22.
