KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Kansas City on Tuesday evening.
According to Kansas City police, the crash was reported just after 5:50 p.m. in the area of E. 31st Street and Bales Avenue.
Police say the driver of a maroon Chevrolet Traverse was traveling westbound on 31st Street when the driver went across the eastbound lanes, just west of Bales, and crashed into a utility pole.

The driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
