Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State.
The EFCC disclosed this in a statement on X.com on Friday, noting that a pump action rifle and live cartridges were recovered from one of them.
The statement partly read, “Their arrest on Friday, August 15, 2025 followed credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.
“Other items recovered from them include, six vehicles, mobile phones and laptop computers.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
The agency had on Sunday similarly announced on the arrest of 93 suspected Internet fraudsters in Ogun State.
It stated that the arrests were made during a sting operation in Abeokuta, the state capital, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to internet fraud.
