The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to advancing agribusiness excellence in the state, describing agriculture as the cornerstone of economic growth and job creation.
Aribasoye stated this on Wednesday during a legislative visit to Agbeyewa Farms in Ipao Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area.
Commending the agro-allied venture for its contributions to food production, job creation, and economic development, the Speaker said:
Aribasoye said, “The project aligns with the vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to position agriculture as the bedrock of Ekiti’s economy.
“We are impressed by the scale of investment here. Agbeyewa Farms is not only boosting food production but also creating jobs for our people and adding value to the economy.
“The House of Assembly will continue to support initiatives like this that place Ekiti on the map of agribusiness excellence.”
Earlier, the Managing Director of Agbeyewa Farms, Mr. Seyi Ayeleso, welcomed the legislators and expressed appreciation for what he described as “a strong show of support for private investment and agribusiness in Ekiti.”
Ayeleso highlighted the farm’s investments in cassava cultivation, aggregation, processing, agro-trading, and community empowerment, stressing that Agbeyewa Farms – a subsidiary of Cavista Holdings -remains committed to food security, youth employment, and economic transformation.
He added that the visit by the Assembly underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable development across the state.
During the tour, the lawmakers were briefed on the farm’s mechanised systems, upcoming modern processing facilities, and sustainable agricultural practices at its Ipao and Gede/Iyemero operations.
