Nottingham Forest have confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis after both parties agreed to terminate his contract, bringing to an end three years at the City Ground.
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel well for the future,” the club said in a brief statement on its website on Sunday.
Dennis, 27, signed for Forest from Watford in 2022 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
He made 19 league appearances in his first season, scoring twice and providing three assists, but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter thereafter.
Much of Dennis’s time away from Forest was spent on loan.
In 2023–24 he joined Turkish Super Lig side İstanbul Başakşehir before returning to Watford in the Championship, where he scored four goals in 17 league outings.
Last season, he spent time at Blackburn Rovers on loan, making six appearances and registering one assist.
Forest’s decision to release Dennis follows a run of limited playing time and multiple temporary moves away from the club.
The striker is now a free agent.
