The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria on Saturday appealed to passengers and aviation workers to uphold calm, courtesy, and professionalism.

This follows the recent passenger assault incident involving popular Fuji musician KWAM 1 and the more recent incident on Ibom Air involving one Comfort Emmanson, now popularly dubbed as KWAM 2.

In a Saturday message posted on its official X account, FAAN stressed that “violence is never the answer” and urged travelers to resolve grievances through the proper channels.

“Stay calm, Stay Safe: No matter the situation, violence is never the answer.

“If you have a concern, visit the FAAN Customer Service Desk to lodge a formal complaint — your issue will be addressed promptly and professionally,” the Authority said.

The statement follows public outrage over reports that a flight descended into chaos after a confrontation between the entertainer and aviation staff.

Similarly, KWAM 2’s video of an altercation with an air hostess and co-workers also circulated widely on social media, sparking debates about passenger conduct and airline staff response.

Call to Aviation Staff, Crew

In its message, FAAN also reminded pilots and other aviation professionals of their duty to protect passengers and maintain confidence in Nigeria’s air transport sector.

“Safety and Service First: Pilots and aviation staff are reminded to prioritise passenger safety, operational excellence, and clear communication at all times to uphold trust in Nigeria’s air travel system,” it noted.

Addressing cabin crew directly, the Authority underscored the importance of professionalism even under pressure.

“Service with Courtesy: Cabin crew are encouraged to maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times. Continuous training and retraining will ensure excellent service delivery and conflict-free flights,” the statement read.

The aviation regulator reassured the public that passenger safety and comfort remain paramount at all Nigerian airports.

“Your Safety, Our Priority: The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is committed to ensuring safety, security and comfort at all our airports — so every journey begins and ends with peace of mind,” FAAN concluded.
