Federal Immigration Agents Targeted in Firebomb Attack At ICE Office in Washington

Federal immigration agents fled a suspected arson attack at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Yakima, Washington, over the weekend, according to the New York Post.

The incident occurred Saturday when a suspect reportedly threw a rock through a window and ignited a fire at the facility. No officers were injured, the New York Post reported.

Officials with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) attributed the attack to rising anti-enforcement sentiment, which they say has been fueled by prominent Democrat officials.

“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor [Michelle] Wu of Boston, [Minnesota Gov.] Tim Walz, and Mayor [Karen] Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” said Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“Secretary [Kristi] Noem has been clear: Anyone who seeks to harm law enforcement officers will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” she added.

The incident gained widespread attention on social media. “BREAKING: Rioters just set fire and threw rocks through windows at an ICE facility in Washington State,” Libs of TikTok wrote on X.

The firebombing is part of a broader trend of violent attacks on ICE facilities and personnel.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, assaults on ICE officers have increased by more than 700% in 2025 compared to the same period last year. DHS reported 10 assaults between January and June 2024. That figure rose to 79 in 2025, according to Fox News.

One of the most serious incidents took place in early July when a police officer was shot outside a Texas ICE facility, prompting a statewide manhunt.

Former Acting ICE Director and current Border Czar Tom Homan has repeatedly warned that inflammatory rhetoric against immigration enforcement, particularly from Democrat lawmakers, has serious consequences.

“The rhetoric against the men and women of ICE is skyrocketing,” Homan said in a recent Fox News interview. “We have senators and congresspeople comparing ICE to Nazis and racists. So the public thinks, ‘Well, if a member of Congress can attack ICE, why can’t we?’”

The Dallas Express reached out to former ICE agent Victor Avila and ICE for comment but did not receive a response.
