The Federal Government said it has commenced a three-day citizensâ engagement tour of Enugu and Ebonyi States in the Southeast, aimed at showcasing ongoing and completed infrastructure projects and fostering direct dialogue with local stakeholders.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this at a parley with media executives and influencers in Enugu on Wednesday night.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, and sighted by PUNCH Online.
The minister was represented at the event by the ministryâs Permanent Secretary, Chinasa Ogbodo.
Ogbodo said the delegation, which includes officials from the Federal Ministry of Information and its agencies, members of the National Communications Team and executives from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, will tour ongoing and commissioned projects in Enugu from Thursday, 14 August 2025.
âFrom tomorrow, Thursday, we will embark on a tour of ongoing and commissioned projects of the Federal Government and those of the Government of Enugu State.
âAfter the tour of projects, the team will host a âCitizens Engagement Forumâ in the Enugu State Government House on Thursday by 6 pm to rub minds and get feedback from various stakeholders in Enugu State,â he said.
Ogbodo said the tour âwill be repeated in Ebonyi State, where His Excellency Governor Ogbonna Erishi Nwifiru will be receiving us on Friday, August 15, 2025. The two Citizensâ Engagement events will be broadcast live on national news networks.â
The minister commended the warm reception accorded his delegation, especially from Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, âwho, on short notice, is rendering all forms of support for our visit.â
