KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is dead, and another has non-life-threatening injuries, after a fight led to a shooting late Saturday night in Kansas City.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, at about 11:15 p.m., officers were called to the area of East 12th Street and Winner Road on reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they were taken to the crime scene by security personnel who said two men had been shot. One man had been taken to a hospital by private car and later died from his injuries; the other victim arrived at the hospital separately with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial investigations reveal that a fight between a group of people may have led to the shooting. However, police say the number of people involved is currently unknown.
At this time, homicide detectives and crime scene personnel are gathering evidence and witness statements at the scene.
KCPD said the case is being investigated as a homicide, and a suspect has not been identified or taken into custody.
