LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Secretary of State Cole Jester announced on Thursday that the United States flag at the state capitol will fly at half-staff in memory of Charlie Kirk.
Jester confirmed this was in accordance with an order by President Donald Trump. Jester also asked that Arkansans continue praying for the Kirk family.

Kirk, a 31-year-old husband, father, conservative activist, and Turning Point USA founder, was shot while speaking on the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday.
“Charlie Kirk was a father, a husband, and my age,” Jester said in part. “His young son was born only a few days after my one-year-old daughter.”

Trump’s order has flags at half-staff through sunset on Sept. 14.
