The Florida Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation is proud to announce its 40th Anniversary Celebration, honoring four decades of service, advocacy, and commitment to the values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The celebration will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2015 Lake Bradford Road.

Founded in 1985, the Florida Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation has worked diligently to preserve and advance Dr. King’s vision of equality, justice, and opportunity for all. For 40 years, the Foundation has provided educational programs, youth empowerment initiatives, and community outreach projects that continue to impact lives throughout Florida and beyond.
“This milestone is not only a celebration of our history but also a recommitment to the dream,” said Stephen Beasley, MLK Foundation Director. “We invite the community, supporters, and partners to join us as we honor our past and look forward to the future.”
As part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration, the Foundation will host a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony recognizing outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions to advancing Dr. King’s legacy.
In addition, the Executive Director of the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission and the President and founder of the MLK Foundation and Global Initiative, Dr. DuShun Scarbrough will be honored as an MLK Ambassador, highlighting his leadership and dedication to strengthening Dr. King’s legacy on a national level.
The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and celebrate this historic milestone.
