In June, the 83-year-old was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison after being convicted on bribery conspiracy and other corruption charges, including the scheme with ComEd that enriched his allies in exchange for favorable legislation.
He was also given a $2.5 million fine.

Madigan’s lawyers argued that the jury was mis-instructed on key legal standards.
