A former Ohio State University running back was arrested on felonious assault charges, according to court records.

Jordan L. Hall, 34, was accused of beating and critically injuring an unidentified victim on Sept. 20 at a Speedway gas station on Columbus’ Northwest Side, according to court records.

Surveillance video showed Hall and two other people pull into the parking lot of the Speedway gas station at 744 West 5th Avenue in a blue Chevrolet blazer at 1 a.m. that morning, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the Franklin County Municipal Court.

Hall and another suspect left the vehicle and went into the gas station, a Columbus police detective wrote in the affidavit. When they returned, Hall opened the rear passenger door and dragged the unidentified male victim out of the vehicle.

Hall punched the unidentified male in the face before climbing into the vehicle’s front passenger seat, according to the affidavit.

The vehicle began to pull away, but came to an abrupt stop; Hall then climbed back out of the vehicle and punched the unidentified male two more times in the face, according to the affidavit.

Former Ohio State running back Jordan Hall was arrested on felonious assault charges after an incident on Sept. 20, 2025. Hall is pictured here in a game against Wisconsin on Oct. 29, 2011.

The unidentified male fell backwards after the second punch and hit his head on the ground. He was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition, according to the affidavit.

The Columbus police homicide unit investigated the reported assault, court records say.

As of Sept. 21, Hall was in the Franklin County Jail awaiting his first court appearance, which was scheduled for the next morning.

Hall played for OSU from 2009-2013. He signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was cut from the team before the start of the 2014 season.
