Amaroy Foundation, a non- governmental organisation focused on reducing the plights of families battling financial challenges has paid over one million Naira to offset the hospital bills of three indigent women in Imo State.
It has also empowered and established poultry farms for three people in the state as well as donated a generating set to a physically challenged person, Ifeanyi Nnanna at Umualum Nekede Owerri West LGA, Imo State struggling to sustain his electronics repair business.
The three events held at separately across Mbaise and Oweri, last week.
Founder of the Foundation Dr. Roy Kelechi Nwakamma said the gestures were aimed at empowering people, restore their dignity, and build resilient communities through practical, people-centered support
Dr Nwakamma, presented 200 day-old chicks, chicken feeds, drugs and housing materials to three farmers to kick start their agribusiness journey, after training.
The three beneficiaries who were specially trained were Mr George Eneremadu, Ugoeze Elizabeth Unanka, and Mrs Rose Njoku all from Mbaise, who were charged to grow their business and support their families.
On his part, a physically challenged man, Mr IfeanyiNnanna from Umualum in Nekede in the Owerri West LGA received a generator and cash grant to boost his electronics repair business and economic development.
At the event,Nwakammaalso announced the set-up of provision shops for two persons, ChibuikeNjoku and EgonnaNwogbo in Mbaise communities.
He said the foundation paid the shop rent for the two people, stocked their shops with goods worth more than ₦1million, a brand new generator, freezer, and stabiliser for each of the traders.
Nwakamma said “our foundation is concerned about the high rate of poverty people grapple with and we want to empower lives, restore dignity, and build resilient communities through practical, people-centered support.
“The latest interventions reaffirm Amaroy Foundation’s growing role as a catalyst for change in rural and marginalized communities, offering hope and tools for self-reliance one person at a time in line with the Foundation’s motto: “Empowering people for better tomorrow” and its slogan: sharing, caring and caring. We will continue to make our own modest interventions to improve humanity and our society as a whole”.
In another development, Dr Nwakamma paid over one million naira (₦1million) outstanding hospital bills for three women who after delivery of their babies through caesarean sections at New Creation Hospital Orji in Owerri North LGa, Imo state were unable to pay for their medical expenses.
The women who were detained in the hospital for weeks after the C-section described the payment as a timely miracle and expressed appreciation to the foundation.
