In a move to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and improve road safety across Ekiti State, the Federal Road Safety Corps has paid a courtesy visit to the Ekiti State Commissioner for Transport, Kolawole Ajobiewe, led by the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye.
The development was announced in a brief statement posted on the Corps’ official X account on Sunday.
The visit, according to the FRSC, focused on enhancing the working relationship between the two agencies to better address road safety challenges across the state.
“In a bid to foster stronger collaboration, the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye FCIPurS MCILT, led his team on a courtesy visit to the Ekiti State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Kolawole Kehinde Ajobiewe.
“The visit focused on deepening the partnership between FRSC and the State Ministry of Transportation, addressing key road safety concerns, and improving traffic management across the state”, the statement partly read.
During the meeting, Adeoye reportedly raised some pressing concerns encountered by road users and officials in the state.
“During the meeting, the Sector Commander raised critical issues such as failed road portions, frequent traffic light violations, and the nuisance caused by indiscriminate parking of trucks and articulated vehicles”, the statement added.
In response to the concerns raised, Ajobiewe praised the efforts of the FRSC and pledged support to enhance their impact on the ground.
“In response, the Hon Commissioner commended the Corps’ efforts in reducing road crashes and pledged continued support and swift action on the highlighted concerns”, the statement concluded.
