A former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniel, has denied reports suggesting he is planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party.
He described the claims as false and reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress.
His response comes days after he and Mr. Kunle Folarin were suspended by the Ogun State chapter of the APC over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension sparked speculation about Daniel’s possible defection from the ruling party.
Daniel, who represents Ogun East Senatorial District, in a statement by the OGD Media Office on Monday, said the purported plan to rejoin PDP is far from the truth, stressing that the Senator remains a member of APC.
The statement reads: “For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Gbenga Daniel is and remains a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, a Senator and remains on the platform of the APC.”
