Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking
Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein, is allegedly receiving special treatment in prison, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee claim.
Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence following a sex trafficking conviction in 2021. She is currently incarcerated at Federal Prison Camp, Bryan, in Texas.
There, lawmakers allege in a press release, prison staff are waiting on her “hand and foot.”
Democrats on the committee said in the press release that a whistleblower had come forward and revealed Maxwell’s alleged favorable treatment.
According to the whistleblower, one of Maxwell’s purported perks is having meals that were “customized and prepared by federal prison camp staff and then personally delivered to her in her cell by longtime federal employees.”
Other allegations include Maxwell being allowed to go to recreation areas after hours and her visitors being given access to a “special cordoned off area for visitors to arrive, as well as an assortment of snacks and refreshments for her guests.”
In one instance, according to the whistleblower, an inmate who trains puppies was instructed to give one to Maxwell for a period of time so she could “play with the puppy, even though neither inmates nor staff are ordinarily allowed to pet the service dogs in training.”
Previously, NBC and CBS reported that Maxwell was seeking a commutation of her sentence from President Donald Trump.
The Epstein case has developed into a political firestorm for the Trump administration, particularly the ongoing fight in Congress to release the Department of Justice’s files related to the case.

Emails sent by Epstein were released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee and included one in which the deceased billionaire said that Trump “knew about the girls.”
In another email, reviewed by CNN, Epstein called Trump “borderline insane” and questioned his cognitive acuity.
