Attorney Arthur Aidala, who represented convicted sex trafficker and Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, lashed out at deceased Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre on NewsNation, Thursday, arguing that she did not “deserve” compensation from Epstein’s estate.
“Ghislaine, she’s a very strong woman. She’s a very smart woman. But nobody wants to be in prison for 20 years,” said Aidala during an appearance on NewsNation’s Cuomo. “Chris, I heard about how much money the Epstein estate gave out, but all you had to kind of do was line up and say that this happened – there was no checks and balances – and they were writing out a check.”
The attorney continued:
I am positive from what I know that there were some young women there who were absolutely hurt and deserve that [compensation]. I don’t put Virginia Giuffre in that category. We’ve caught her lying so many times. The federal government, when they tried Ghislaine’s case, they interviewed Giuffre for hours, maybe days. They never put her on the stand. You’re a lawyer. Why? Why? Because she wasn’t credible. She accused our friend Alan six times in six places. When he sued her for defamation, that’s the case I handled against Giuffre, “I may have made a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t Alan Dershowitz over six times in six different locations.” Ruined the guy’s life. Ruined Dershowitz’s life in his 80s by being falsely accused in this.
Giuffre initially accused Epstein of trafficking her to his friend and lawyer Alan Dershowitz. However, she dropped the allegations and issued a statement saying she “may have made a mistake” after Dershowitz – who is famously litigious – filed a defamation lawsuit against her.
Giuffre – who was poached as a teenager by Epstein from President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort – took her own life in April after years of lawsuits, including against Prince Andrew.
Giuffre accused Epstein and Maxwell of trafficking her to the British royal, who appeared in a now-infamous photograph with her.
Since her death, members of Giuffre’s family have attempted to seek justice for the victims of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
