NEED TO KNOW

  • An Idaho couple was arrested after being accused of sending a violent, religious “manifesto” to the leaders of their former church

  • The document threatened public officials and civilians and implored others to “Go. Hunt. Kill.”

  • Jonathan and Jolene Harms now face a total of 120 charges, Idaho jail records show

A couple in Idaho is facing more than 100 charges after authorities allege they published a violent, religious manifesto that included a “kill list” targeting dozens of judges, police officers, bankers, other citizens and their own families, according to several new reports.

Jonathan and Jolene Harms face 120 counts in total, according to the Idaho Statesman, WLTX, and KIVI. Both Jonathan, 43, and Jolene, 39, were charged with 20 counts of stalking, 20 counts of witness intimidation in a criminal case, as well as 20 counts of witness intimidation in a civil case, according to the outlets.

According to the Statesman, many of the individuals identified on the couple’s alleged “kill list” included members of their former Table Rock Church, which excommunicated the couple earlier this year after Boise Police Department investigators said in a probable cause statement that Jonathan showed “escalating behavior” towards other members of the church.

According to Boise police, Jonathan emailed his and Jolene’s 277-page manifesto to church leaders on July 10.

WLTX reported that prosecutors alleged last week in court that the manifesto Jonathan emailed to the church threatened dozens of people and ordered others to “Go. Hunt. Kill.”

Jonathan was arrested at the couple’s home two days after emailing the manifesto to the church, according to the Statesman, which reported authorities said they uncovered a “substantial amount” of ammunition and firearms at the couple’s home.

After her husband’s arrest, the newspaper reported that police alleged Jolene sent “threatening” text messages to a police officer’s wife, telling her, “seriously, I’m going to kill your children” during the investigation.
