EG Studios has announced the commencement of auditions for the seventh edition of the Grooming Talent Hunt, an annual initiative designed to discover and nurture young creatives at the grassroots.
In a statement on Monday, the Chief Executive Officer of EG Studios, Elma Godwin, who will lead the auditions, said the platform remains committed to providing opportunities for aspiring talents to showcase their skills and pursue their dreams.
The project is sponsored by Grooming Centre and implemented by EG Studios. It is open to artists, poets, dancers, painters, comedians, and other emerging creatives, who will compete for cash prizes of N1.5m, N900,000, and N600,000 for the first, second, and third positions respectively.
Since its inception, the Grooming Talent Hunt has attracted over 3,000 participants, produced more than 70 finalists, and celebrated 18 winners who have gone on to grow their craft and gain recognition.
“This stage is for those who might never have been seen or heard. We are creating opportunities for young talents to flourish and tell their stories,” Godwin said.
The Corporate Communications Lead at Grooming Centre, Joyce Ofua, also commended the project’s impact: “We are proud of what EG Studios, led by Elma Godwin, has accomplished over the years. Through the Grooming Talent Hunt, countless young creatives have been given the platform to shine. This year, we look forward to even greater impact as the project continues to transform lives and nurture talent at the grassroots.”
According to the statement, Grooming Centre’s sustained sponsorship over the past six years has been key to driving the project’s success, ensuring that voices from underserved communities are heard.
“With its seventh edition, Grooming Talent Hunt remains committed to discovery, empowerment, and impact in Nigeria’s creative space,” it added.
