August was another productive month for the South Florida Water Management District’s Python Elimination Program.
Starting in January, the SFWMD has awarded $1,000 to the Burmese python hunter who has eliminated the most invasive snakes during the month.
Brian Hargrove is the August winner. He captured 63 snakes.
This bring the 2025 total for the program to 245 pythons eliminated. With four months left to go in the year, officials are undoubtedly looking forward to seeing that number continue to rise.
