The government has partially shut down after congressional legislators failed to negotiate a deal before the Oct. 1 deadline.

Despite efforts to find a solution, lawmakers were unable to reach an agreement on a funding extension, with the bill, H.R. 5371, failing to pass on a 55-45 vote.

Here’s how politicians in Illinois voted.

How did Dick Durbin vote on funding extension ahead of government shutdown?

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin voted against the funding extension, according to the United States Senate website.
