An Illinois transportation and warehousing company has laid off 57 workers from its Palatine facility.
CNC Logistics, Inc. reported the layoffs as part of the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, also known as the WARN Act. The company laid off the workers on Aug. 27.
The reason provided in CNC’s Sept. 23 WARN notice was the closure of its Palatine plant. CNC lists four other locations on its website: West Chicago and Greenwood, Illinois, plus Durham, North Carolina, and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
CNC is a “Amazon last mile provider,” working with the ecommerce giant since 2017, according to its website.
The Peoria Journal Star reached out to CNC by telephone and email Monday afternoon but did not receive a response before publication.
