The Imo State government has banned further sale of land within the Naze and Naze North industrial layouts in the state.
The state governor, Hope Uzodimma gave the order in a statement released by the Commissioner for Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, Chief Ernest Ibejiako in Owerri, Imo State on Monday.
The statement said all forms of construction, development or erection of structures within the layouts were equally prohibited.
The release mandated all property owners to submit their title documents to the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals for verification without delay.
“Any person, group and organization found violating this directive shall face the full weight of the law, including revocation of property rights, demolition of illegal structures and prosecution”, the release said.
The release maintained that government would not hesitate to enforce strict compliance of the order.
