The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened registration for ad-hoc electoral staff to serve at the Anambra State governorship election.

Application starts on Monday, September 15, and ends on October 5, 2025.

INEC announced this in a notice on its X handle on Monday.

“The INECPRES is for registration of eligible ad-hoc staff (Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)/Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APO Registration Technicians (RATECHS), and RAC Managers for the Anambra State 2025 Governorship Election,” it said.

According to the advert, applicants must be residents of Anambra, Delta, Enugu or Imo states, except RATECHs who must be INEC ICT staff.

To be eligible, applicants must not be members of any political party and must not have publicly demonstrated support for any candidate or party.

SPOs will be drawn from federal public/civil service and MDAs on specified grade levels.

POs/APOs will include serving or recent NYSC members, INEC staff, and qualified federal tertiary students.

INEC added that interested and eligible applicants can register online via the web portal or through the Android mobile app.

It clarified that applicants for RATECH positions are reserved for suitable INEC ICT staff (state and headquarters) not engaged in other election duties.

RAC Managers will generally be drawn from the hosting school or institution (head of school or appropriate staff on specified grade levels).

Applicants are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully before submitting their applications.

PUNCH Online reports the recruitment comes as INEC prepares to conduct the off-cycle Anambra governorship poll scheduled for 8 November 2025.
