An Israeli delegation reportedly visited Egypt on Monday night to discuss the ongoing security arrangement between Cairo and Jerusalem and the ongoing war in Gaza after the United States encouraged Egypt to soften its stance on Israel, sources told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed last week.
The sources claimed the delegation, which met with Egyptian officials, came hours after Cairo calmed down the political and media rhetoric against Jerusalem at the request of the United States.

The delegation discussed the Rafah border, the boundary between Egypt and Hamas-run Gaza, and the ongoing IDF presence in the Philadelphi Corridor.
ISRAELI FLAGS are positioned in the area of the Philadelphi Corridor. If Israel relinquishes control of the corridor, it would be giving Hamas the chance to reinstate its significant presence in the Gaza Strip, practically making it a sovereign power, the writers argue. (credit: Oren Cohen/Flash90)
Tensions between Israel and Egypt
During the four-hour visit, delegations also discussed the accusation that Egypt had violated the Camp David Accords, one source claimed.
The source claimed that “one of those objections included Egypt’s objection to the Israeli side’s installation of communications towers equipped with surveillance cameras at high altitudes in the Philadelphi Corridor after the Israeli army took control of the triangle adjacent to the Egyptian border, which poses a threat to Egyptian national security.”
