A 73-year-old man is missing after falling overboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.

The incident took place at around 4:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, Nov. 22, on the Disney Wonder ship sailing from Melbourne, Australia, to Auckland, New Zealand, 7 News Australia reported, citing the Victoria Police.

“It is understood the man died after he jumped from a cruise liner into the waters in the Tasman Sea,” a police spokeswoman told the outlet.

The man’s identity has not been shared publicly.

According to 7 News Australia, the Disney Wonder cruise ship turned around and crew searched for the missing passenger for approximately five hours, but they were unable to find him.

“The captain came on and updated the boat and basically stated that there was someone, a passenger had fallen overboard … [but] that they were unable to find them,” passenger Mitch Talbot told the outlet.

He added, “It was quite sombre, and it was a bit eerie the rest of the day. A lot of the staff kind of took some time.”

The missing man was from the north Melbourne suburb of Moonee Ponds, per 7 News Australia.

Authorities said they are not treating the death as suspicious. A coroner’s report is currently being prepared, WDWNT News Today reported.

The Disney ship is currently continuing its journey to Auckland. It is now set to reach its destination a day behind schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 26, according to 7 News Australia.

PEOPLE has reached out to Disney Cruise Line and the Victoria Police for comment.
