Jigawa State Government has expressed strong readiness to collaborate with individuals and donor organisations to boost the socio-economic welfare of its vulnerable citizens, especially women.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hadiza Abdulwahab, made this declaration during a meeting with members of the Society for Women Development and Empowerment in Nigeria, held on Friday in her office in Dutse, the state capital.
Abdulwahab emphasised the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting women, children, and other vulnerable groups through diverse programmes.
She warmly welcomed authentic development partners who share this mission, adding that, “Jigawa State government is ever ready for collaboration with any individuals and philanthropic organisations toward supporting our vulnerable women across the state”.
Moreso, the commissioner urged the organisation to be fair and transparent in selecting beneficiaries of their programmes, emphasising the need to extend such initiatives across all parts of the state.
“The state government is committed to the welfare of vulnerable groups, and we welcome genuine partners who want to work in this direction,” she noted.
The Commissioner assured SWODEN of the government’s readiness in the collaboration to bring a positive impact to the women, especially in the rural communities
She then reiterated the importance of fairness and inclusiveness in project execution to ensure wider reach and equity.
However, Abdulwahab appealed for the extension of empowerment and education initiatives beyond the current areas selected by the organisation, to cover more vulnerable populations in the state.
The PUNCH online on August 16 reported that the SWODEN, Jigawa State Team Leader, Adam Muhammad, explained that their visit aimed to introduce the organisation and seek the Ministry’s support and cooperation in fulfilling their mission of supporting the vulnerable women in the state.
He added that SWODEN plans to empower women with various skills and trades know-how while facilitating educational support for children, specifically in Birnin Kudu local government area.
“This partnership is important for the empowerment of women and the educational advancement of children in our communities,” Muhammad stressed.
