Kirkland’s Home shoppers across California will soon see “Store Closing” signs. The home décor retailer is shutting down at least 10 locations statewide by the end of the year, and none will be converted into Bed Bath & Beyond stores.
The Brand House Collective CEO and Director Amy Sullivan said during an analyst call on Sept. 16. that the company would close 25 locations by January due to lease expirations and that these locations would not be included in the two-year conversion plan.
The Brand House Collective announced on Sept. 15 that it sold Kirkland’s intellectual property to Bed Bath & Beyond for $10 million, a move Bed Bath & Beyond said would accelerate store conversions. Sullivan said on the analyst call that around 250 storefronts would make up the new Bed Bath & Beyond footprint.
