The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commended the pace and quality of work on the 49-kilometre Eiyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa–Odo-Otin concrete road.

This is as he described it as a key product of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and a strong signal that “the policies are working.”

According to a statement dated August 3, 2025 and shared with PUNCH Online on Monday, the governor spoke during an inspection tour of the ongoing road project on Saturday.

There, he praised both the Federal Government and the handling contractor, BUA Group, for their efforts under the federal tax credit scheme.

“We are inspecting the ongoing federal and state road projects. This is Ilorin–Offa new road, and you can see how solid it is.

“We have to thank President Bola Tinubu for this road project. It is a major achievement, as you can see. The project will shorten travel time between Ilorin, Offa and adjoining communities. When completed, the travel time to Offa from Ilorin will be 30 minutes. This is a good investment and another product of the Renewed Hope Agenda,”  AbdulRazaq told reporters.

The governor emphasized that the Tinubu-led administration’s infrastructure investments are beginning to yield visible results across the country.

“It shows that the policies are working. There is more money for infrastructure, and people can see that even within the state. We do appreciate the President,” he said.

Accompanied by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, and the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, the governor received technical briefings from site engineer Abdulsalam Onaolapo, who assured that the project remains on schedule despite the rainy season.

AbdulRazaq also lauded the performance of BUA Group, the contractor handling several major road projects in the state.

“The quality of job being done by BUA is first class. They are also working on the Bode Sadu–Kaiama–Kosubosu road project. We’ve been there as well.

“The quality of work there is also good. As you can see, this is the rainy season and the construction work is still ongoing. I say well done to BUA,” he said.

Meanwhile, the governor reaffirmed Kwara’s support for Tinubu, suggesting that the people of the state would back him for a second term.

“Who will say ‘no to President Tinubu’ after seeing all these investments done at the state and elsewhere?

The road project

“The people of Kwara State are fully behind the President to have another term post-2027 for his developmental agenda to run full circle,” AbdulRazaq declared.

He further noted that Tinubu’s reforms are producing tangible benefits through expanded infrastructure, improved social protection programmes, and strengthened security measures.

Aside from the road project, the statement also noted that AbdulRazaq also inspected the ongoing renovation of the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okesho, Asa Local Government Area.

Earlier in the day, he paid condolence visits to the families of Daudu Ballah and Alhaji Abdulkadir Kawu Yahya, who passed away on Friday. He also attended the Fidau prayer for Alhaji Suleiman Bayero, a former Accountant General of the state.
