Oct. 14 (UPI) — A pair of Florida police officers responded to an unusual call to remove a large snake found “camped out atop a car hood.”
The Clearwater Police Department said on social media that a pair of officers responded to the Franklin Street area when “someone reported a snake camped out atop a car hood.”
“Equipped with a snake hook — yes, the sergeant is ever-prepared and carries one in her car — they were able to bravely wrangle the reptilian rascal and take it to a local pet store that will find the boa a proper home,” the post said.
The 5-foot-long boa constructor appeared to be uninjured, but dehydrated.
“Talk about an unusual catch of a slithery suspect,” police wrote.
The snake’s origins were unknown.
