KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — LG&E is proposing rate hikes for customers.
Kentucky’s Public Service Commission held a public meeting Monday to let customers know about proposed rate hikes for LG&E.
Under the plan, the average residential electric bill would go up about $11 a month — roughly a 10% jump. Gas bills would increase by just over $11 — about 15%.

Company leaders said the money would help pay for new infrastructure and protect everyday customers from the strain data centers put on the grid.
The earliest the rate hikes could go into effect, if approved by the Public Service Commission, would be Jan. 1.
