Taylor County rancher Liz Case announced Friday she will again run as a Republican for the Texas House of Representatives District 71 seat.

The seat will be vacated by longtime Rep. Stan Lambert, R-Abilene, who announced he will retire at the end of his present term. Lambert beat Case in the party primary in 2023.

Case said in the press release that her priorities if elected would be border security, property tax relief, parental rights and educational freedom, election integrity and defeating “Woke Culture.”

She said she first got into politics because of the pro-life movement decades ago. She also said she would “not be another politician who masquerades as a conservative at home but doesn’t follow through in Austin.”

Republican Liz Case announced Friday she will try again to win the Texas House District 71 seat after incumbent Rep. Stan Lambert announced he would retire at the end of his present term. Here she speaks to an audience of over 200 at her rally Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, during her unsuccessful run for the primary nomination. Case was endorsed by Gov. Greg Abbott during the rally.

She was endorsed by Gov. Greg Abbott, U.S. Sen Ted Cruz and then-former former President Donald Trump in the 2024 GOP Primary.

However, some voters and political opponents have called into question how long she has actually resided within District 71, according to a previous Abilene Reporter-News article.

Case’s announcement that she would try again to win the post came one day after Lambert announced he would not seek another term.
