A beloved Massachusetts-based ice cream company is recalling a flavor.
The Food and Drug Administration published a recall announcement saying that Friendly’s, an ice cream company headquartered in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, will be recalling a small amount of their Cookies and Cream flavor due to a mislabeling mishap.
“The recalled product was mistakenly packaged in Friendly’s Vanilla Bean ice cream cartons with a Cookies & Cream lid,” the recall said. “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy and/or wheat run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”

Friendly’s ice cream recalled due to allergy concerns
The recalled item product is a 48-ounce carton of Friendly’s ice cream that was sold in retail stores in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland with a best by date of Nov. 26, 2025.
“The voluntary recall was initiated after it was discovered that a limited quantity of Cookies & Cream ice cream was mistakenly packaged in a Friendly’s Vanilla Bean ice cream cartons that did not identify the soy and wheat ingredients,” the recall said. “No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported.”
Those who have bought a 48-ounce Friendly’s Vanilla Bean ice cream with cookies and cream lids on them can return it to their point of purchase for a full refund, the announcement said.
