Donations are pouring in for a Minnesota artist and DJ after he was run over by a Tesla Cybertruck driver at Burning Man festival in Nevada.
James “JP” Patrick was injured on Aug. 30 while attending the popular arts festival in the Nevada desert along with his wife Jade and two of their children.
Patrick was meditating on the desert, known as the “Playa” during the festival, when he was run over by a decorated Cybertruck that pinned him to the ground and then dragged him.
He screamed for help before the driver backed up and released him.
Patrick was airlifted to a hospital in Reno, Nevada, where doctors performed reconstructive surgery on both of his crushed feet, one of which was almost severed.
A GoFundMe has since been created to support Patrick and his family as he recovers.

Patrick is the co-founder of the Slam Academy — an electronic music school — and the Gamut Gallery, both located in Minneapolis.
“JP and Jade are both self-employed working artists. Their livelihood depends on steady creative work, which this accident has now put on hold,” the fundraiser reads
“Beyond the enormous medical costs, JP’s absence means lost wages, lost childcare support at home, and an urgent need for extra help to keep their household afloat during this crisis.”
A Sep. 5 update on the fundraiser stated that Patrick had returned to his home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where he is receiving in-home treatment.
“All things considered, there is so much to be grateful for. The kids are struggling, but their pure spirits keep fueling ours,” the update read. “Our community in Minneapolis is showing up hard with LOVE, meals, and are eager to jump in with domestic tasks – thank you!!!”
As of Saturday, the fundraiser had reached around $78,000 of its $100,000 goal.
